Compact in size, these gearboxes mount directly onto the driven shaft, eliminating the need for a foundation and couplings. The gears, made of suitable alloy steels, are helical, hardened, and ground. Ideal for both forward and reverse motion, the gearbox is anchored by a torque arm, offering an easy, quick method of V-belt adjustment via a turnbuckle. Currently available in 11 different sizes, ranging from B to L, with normal ratios of 5:1, 13:1, and 20:1, a wide range of final speed ratios can be achieved using pulley combinations. Despite not undergoing a redesign for higher power-to-weight ratios, the gearbox features keyed bores or taper clamps output hubs in stainless steel, labyrinth sealing, extraction collars, reducing bushes, safety covers, hydraulic motor mounts, and backstops.
